On March 28th a robbery took place at the corner of 5th & R Streets, NW around 8:30 PM. The previous week the Beau Thai Restaurant and a patron inside the restaurant was robbed. A couple day’s later another robbery at the corner of New Jersey Ave and R Street. Is Shaw really moving forward?

Beau Thai Restaurant Robbed:PSA 308 Under Attack
The Ward 2 Shaw Beau Thai Restaurant located at New Jersey Ave and R Street, NW was robbed last week along with it’s customer. On March 24th a man was robbed in the evening while walking near 6th & Q Street, NW. Later on that night a Pizza Restaurant on Florida Ave, NW in the 600 Block was robbed. PSA 308 is also being tagged by graffiti bandits which is bringing down property value.
What Mayor Vince Gray Needs: From A Black Perspective
DC Mayor Vince Gray has the opportunity to be the best Mayor DC have ever elected. The fact remains that most Blacks voted for him and expect him to improve their living, educational and employment conditions that are not proportional with Whites in the District of Columbia. Most of the housing development contracts are awarded to White contractors whom sub-contract to other whites and subsequently hire for peanuts an Uncle Tom to sell their development projects to the community. Particularly, if that development is in the Black community that has potential for re-development – pack your bags Black people because now you have to move because the condo is coming that you can’t afford.
Mayor Gray will survive the media attacks and of a few maligned former DC City Council Members that fed the media the petty data in an attempt to dethrone Gray.
Gray needs some “New Jack,” Black men around him that are not head bobbing soft spoken and teeth grinning Uncle Toms and sellouts. Black men that are strong, street wise, educated and competent. The Black woman surrounding Gray are OK but he needs to balance his circle with some strong brothers. Hey folks! Remember US Attorney General Eric Holder said we in he USA are too afraid to talk about race. Not me!
Vince Gray will prevail when he re-connects to the Black community voters, ignore the media attacks, govern the city not based on race but needs and morality. Vince my brother take a page out of President Obamas book and like former Black New York US Harlem Congressman Adam Clayton Powell, Jr., said “Keep the faith baby!”
US Congressman Rep. Peter King, Republican-New York Attacks US Muslims
US Congressman Rep. Peter King a racist Republican and IRA terrorist attacked Muslims at “Witch hunt,” US Congressional Hearing on March 10th. The Republican Congressman King stacked the witness list with a Somalian whom many Muslim Somalians living in the USA identified as a drunk and and non-practicing Muslim.
Why didn’t Rep.King schedule a hearing for the racist Ku Klux Klans Charistians that terrorizes Blacks and Jews from past to present?
DC Deputy Mayor For Public Safety Paul Quander Received Well At ECCA Meeting
DC Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Paul Quander was received well at the ECCA Meeting on March 7th. Deputy Mayor Quander was impressed with the ECCA food and the intelligent questions asked by the ECCA membership – so impressed he commended Sgt. Tyrone Harris for his partnership with the Shaw Chapter of the Red Hats crime fighting volunteer patrol and he also stayed for the entire meeting.
