Mayor Gray gave a press conference this morning at Clydes Restaurant in Chinatown announcing the expansion of the Mayors Summer Youth Employment Program providng jobs to any youth who wants one in the District of Columbia.
The trash is being picked-up, homicides are down, economic development is booming, public schools are being reformed and Gray is trying to create jobs for the jobless so what’s the problem with the Washington Post? Well they lost the Mayor’s race with their last year endorsement of Fenty and they can’t get over it – so they have decided to link Gray with every opportunity to smear his reputation with gossip or rumor’s they can print. the Washington Post’s smear campaign against Mayor Gray has caused racial divide in this city while Gray continues to serve all aspects of the city to make it One-City.
The Virginia Marine reservist of Ethiopian hearititage who shot at the US Pentagon and a host of US Marine sites and also was recently spotted at the Arlington National Cemetery and arrested IS NOT A MUSLIM. “This was verified at the Masjid (Muslim Place of Worship) on Friday where I attend Muslim worship each Friday,” Said ECCA President Al Hajj Mahdi Leroy J. Thorpe, Jr.
ANC 2c-02 Commissioner Kevin Chapple errored in making a motion at the ANC June monthly meeting for DDOT to place a stop sign at the intersection of 5th & R NW. The motion was seconded by Alex Padro and it passed 4-0. The point is that Chapple, Padro and the other commissioners are clearly out of touch with the residents living near 5th & R NW. At the request of the East Central Civic Association President Mahdi Leroy Thorpe, residents Mark Shammel and Ben Williams – DDOT placed new Stops signs up at 5th & R NW month’s ago. The ECCA would suggest that the ANC pass a motion and follow-up with DDOT to place a yellow traffic light at the 5th & R NW intersection in efforts to reduce the multiple traffic incidents occurring at that intersection.
The Shaw ECCA-East Central Civic Association overwhelmingly voted tonight to support DOES Director Lisa Mallory to become the next director of DOES. The ECCA is working closely with DOES-DC Department of Employment Services to provide jobs and training for unemployed Shaw residents. DOES Acting Director Lisa Mallory attended the ECCA June 6th meeting and she was well received. “She’s an intelligent and beautiful black woman who worked for former President Bill Clinton. My wife and enjoyed a private conversation with Ms. Mallory about Africa,” said ECCA President Al Hajj Mahdi Leroy J. Thorpe, Jr.
