ANC Commissioner Alex Padro Shuns Historic Black Civic Association and Black Voters In Shaw Regarding Proposed Ward 6 New ANC Boundaries
Ward 6 Councilman Tommy Wells appointed Shaw resident Skip Coburn to inform the Shaw community of the new Ward 6 ANC boundaries: although, Coburn failed to carry out those duties, he did ask Alex Padro on October 24th to e-mail ECCA President Mahdi Leroy J. Thorpe, Jr., the new proposed Ward 6 ANC boundaries seven days before the community could provide feedback to Tommy Wells which would have been October 31, 2011. Knowing how power hungry and egocentric Alex Padro is about controlling and not sharing everything he get’s involved with, well Thorpe got the e-mail from Padro after the October 31, 2011 deadline for residents to make comments to Wells. “The e-mail came November 1st and I never expected Padro to contact me at all even after the deadline. I was was the one who told Padro to run for the ANC seat years ago and he has been a disappointment as far as power, greed for money and ethics are concerned having been investigated by the DC Government for alleged ethics violations involving taking money from developers while voting on their projects at ANC meetings and recent allegations related to Padro stacking developers staff on the Shaw Main Streets which he controls and earns a living from – the money is suppose to go to businesses in Shaw. Padro also failed to inform many Black tenant associations, churches and other organizations of the new proposed ANC Boundaries he proposed to Ward 6 Tommy Wells. Padro has always been jealous and intimidated by my activism in Shaw and has done everything associated with evil to attack me,” said Thorpe,
