The word on the street with the progressive voters in Ward 5, is that they want Delano Hunter, to be the next elected councilman for Ward 5. The young African-American voter has connected with the old and young voters to make a credible run for the seat vacated by former Ward 5 Councilman Harry Thomas, Jr.

A car window was smashed today next to the Monique condo located at 5th & R Streets, NW. The educated guest is that a theft occurred based on the vehicles glass debri on the street.

DC City Councilman Michael A. Brown Wins ECCA Endoresement: ECCA Votes Against City Funding For Shaw Main Streets

DC City Councilman At-Large Michael A. Brown took the ECCA Meeting by storm tonight with his vast knowledge about city finances and his support for affordable housing and leveling the economic playing field regarding economic development projects and jobs for DC residents. The ECCA overwhelming endorsed Michael A. Brown for the DC City Council At-Large race.

The ECCA voted overwhelmingly against the city funding the Shaw Main Streets headed by ANC Alexander M. Padro. Padro is accused of allegedly pocketing city money intended to fund Shaw Main Streets and ignoring Black businesses in the 1500/1600 Block of 7th Street, NW that wanted Shaw Main Streets funding to improve the facade of their businesses.

Shaw ANC Alexander M. Padro Looses Democratic National Convention Delegate Race: Councilmen Jack Evans And Marion Barry Wins Delagate Race

Shaw ANC Alexander M. Padro lost his bid to become a delegate to the Democratic National Convention, the voting took place on Saturday March 3, at the University of the District of Columbia. “The voters were smart and would not allow Padro historic tricks and covert negative campaigning to propel him to victory. The ECCA endorsed Ward 2 Councilman Jack Evans. We did not want Padro to win,” said Shaw activist Mahdi Leroy J. Thorpe, Jr.
