Mahdi Leroy J. Thorpe, Jr., and his Shaw Red Hats patrol group in partnership with the Third District Police are cleaning up the open air drinking and drug use and sales in the 1500 Block of 7th Street, NW. The Third District Police Vice Unit has made several arrests recently in front of Bread for the City where many of the open air drinking and drug dealing take place. “We noticed a major change last night when the Red Hats and Third District Police PSA 308 officer’s were on patrol together. We have to be consistent to make a major impact,” said Thorpe.
